Career Coaching
What is Coaching?
Coaching is a thinking partnership. It helps you build greater self-awareness, think more clearly, grow your confidence, and take sustainable action toward what matters most to you.
It is not advice-giving, mentoring, or therapy, though I may draw on elements of all three depending on what you need, and I will always be transparent when I do. If you want to understand the differences, see the FAQ page.
How I Can Help
If I cannot help you with something, I will be upfront about that and suggest alternatives if I have them.
Guidelines to Approach
I do not follow a one-size-fits-all model, but most coaching partnerships move through these phases:
Clarify what matters most to you now.
Clarify what you want for the future.
Focus on the top goals to tackle.
Decide on actions.
Reflect on what is working and what is getting in the way. Adjust if needed.
My goal is to coach you toward independence, not dependency.
Most meaningful shifts happen over a few months, but I also offer coaching for focused, short-term goals.
My Approach
Understanding your situation first: I believe in fully understanding the specific problem or goal before suggesting anything. I will ask a lot of questions. I will always check that my understanding is correct and that we are moving in the right direction.
Conversation-based: Everything is a conversation, including any suggestions I might have. You are free to take or leave them. I am here to support what you decide to do.
Empathetic and forward-looking: I will listen and seek to understand how things are affecting you. And because you are investing in this, we will also keep our eye on what you want your future to look like.
Honest: I will be honest when I do not know something. I will also be honest and kind with constructive input.
Organized: I will bring enough structure to make sure we are tracking toward your goals and not missing things, in a way that works for both of us.
